Ron Sinton founded Sinton Instruments in 1992. He has 30 years of experience in silicon solar cells, including the demonstration of 28% silicon concentrator solar cells in 1987, 23% one-sun cells in 1989, and the transfer of these processes to SunPower Corp. as Manager of R&D. Since 1992, his company has been a leading supplier for innovative test instruments and measurement strategies for use in the optimization and production of both multi-crystalline and mono-crystalline silicon solar cells.
